NMN Longlasting is a combination of pure NMN and a novel pea protein.  In the acidic gastric environment, the pea protein will form a gel around the NMN.  This barrier allows the NMN to bypass the stomach and be absorbed slowly over time in the small intestine.  This process can increase NAD+ blood levels for up to 6hours.

This is a genuinely interesting piece of mechanistic research. A 2019 study identified a specific intestinal transporter, called Slc12a8, that appears responsible for carrying NMN into cells. Key findings from that research: Slc12a8 is highly expressed in the small intestine, its function requires sodium ions, and notably, it transports NMN specifically, not nicotinamide riboside (NR), meaning these two related NAD+ precursors appear to use different uptake pathways in the gut.

A 12-week trial in 36 healthy middle-aged adults found NMN reduced total LDL and non-HDL cholesterol, body weight, and diastolic blood pressure, and a related analysis from a similar trial found NMN supplementation showed potential in alleviating arterial stiffness, though the pulse wave velocity change didn't reach statistical significance on its own. Worth noting these are separate but related trials from the same research group.
